Michael Sasser, Jr. Shaves Head to Fight Cancer
He did it! Michael Sasser, Jr., Pre-K3, shaved his head in solidarity with children who have cancer.
Micael was the top fundraiser of 40 participants in the event to benefit St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research to help infants, children, teens and young adults with childhood cancers. He brought in $1,785 of the total amount raised, which was just shy of the goal of $20,000.

Holy Spirit School started the school year with a brand new library!
The Holy Spirit School library was completely renovated over the summer. The Holy Spirit Home School Association (HSA) held a series of events & fundraisers over the last few years to raise funds from our families and friends to support the project.
The project included new flooring, paint, bookcases, tables, chairs, computer workstations, and much more. Our preschool section has a beautiful giraffe print rug and reading area. We are busy adding new fiction and non-fiction books for grades 1-5 to enjoy throughout the school year.
We unveiled our library to the excited children and their parents last week with a blessing from Holy Spirit pastor, Father Hyl. Our librarian Mrs Hajjar was busy showing the kids how to navigate the new layout filled with reading materials on history, black history, geography, religion, space, science, reference, and others. The new space is a perfect complement to the online catalog system we implemented last year.

Meghan Sheridan, 5th grade, received the 2012 St. Thomas Aquinas Award. Meghan was invited to the “Breakfast of Champions”, where Bishop Lori blessed and presented her with a medal of Honor and certificate. Students who were chosen demonstrate excellence in academics and Christian values.
